Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Toolmaker/Builder in Auburn Hills MI . Our client is a Automation company. The Toolmaker/Builder is responsible or making precision tools ( such as jigs, moulids and dies), special guides and holding devices, which are then used in the manufacturing process to make products .
Responsibilities Of a Toolmaker/Builder Includes

• Other duties may be assigned as required.
• Work with other skilled trades and engineering employees to trouble shoot machinery functions.
• Support the installation and try-out of equipment in the customer's plant if required.
• Proficiently run small machine shop equipment including but not limited to lathe, Bridgeport machine and surface grinders.
• Assemble, level, line up, tryout, and demonstrate work stations and transport systems including sub-assembly procedures such as fitting bushings and sizing spacers as necessary for final assembly completion.
• Move material in the plant using cranes and forklifts.
• Read engineering drawings and schematics.
• Prepare equipment for shipment to customer's plant.
• Mark-up build prints to reflect as-built status.
• Plan daily activities with a minimum amount of instruction from supervisor.

Job Requirements Of a Toolmaker/Builder

• Able to use and interpret precision instruments with skill and confidence ( micrometers, Vernier's, indicators, precision machine levels, etc)
• Skilled in the use of light machine shop equipment including but not limited to, cut off saw, drill press, lathe, belt sander, plasma cutter, welder and cutting torches.
• Work experience with assembling powertrain assembly equipment and systems.
• Work experience in setting up and tuning complex tooling equipment such as: Key-up stations, Gauge Stations, Cold Test Stations, and Complex Drive Lines

REQUIRED Experience And Education

• One-year certificate from college or technical school with three or more years related experience, or completion of apprenticeship program and/or a minimum of eight years of employment in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
