Tool Maker Jobs

Clow Stamping Company is currently seeking Toolmakers for 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM). Clow Stamping Company produces metal stampings for a wide variety of markets including Agricultural, Recreational Vehicles, Light & Heavy Equipment, and Fitness Equipment.

Overall Position Summary

Toolmakers are highly skilled technicians who design and produce quality precision tooling that will produce quality parts to meet our customer specifications. Toolmakers will perform a variety of operations such as: cutting, milling, turning, grinding, basic EDM, jig bore and drilling while manufacturing tools.

Responsibilities & Authority

· Work with Lead People (or designee) to learn basic tooling knowledge and departmental procedures.

· Assemble and repair such tools.

· Perform basic layouts of tools.

· Perform surface grinding (including Blanchard).

· Maintain shop tools and inventory.

· Assist production machining as needed.

· Perform work on tools in time quoted while maintaining quality workmanship.

Competencies and Qualifications

· Completion of technical school program and/or 2 years of experience.

· Working knowledge of metal stamping dies, die casting tools, and the machines the dies are mounted in as a basis for performing proper maintenance duties.

· Shop math and trigonometry, interpret engineering drawings, setup and operate all basic machine tools and skillfully use micrometers and other measuring instruments.
