Job Description
The TMA AmeriCorps VISTA member will serve to support the expansion and function of the GBC Volunteer & Mentoring program offered through the Boys and Girls Club of Delaware. The TMA VISTA member will be responsible for the recruitment and training of Goldey-Beacom College students to become Goldey-Beacom College mentors. The students will serve as mentors by implementing programs in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Club of Delaware and provide opportunities for Club youth to develop skills in STEM, physical education, and college exploration.


Member Duties : The VISTA will work closely with the BGCDE to develop, implement and supervise activities through Volunteer & Mentoring Program! The VISTA will specifically create a mentoring program that targets the vulnerable fifth- to tenth-grade population. The VISTA will be responsible for recruitment, training and facilitation of all College supported mentor programs that will be launched in conjunction with the BGCDE. Responsibilities will also include strengthening existing framework, scheduling of programs and College student mentors, establishing protocols with Human Resources for hiring student mentors, evaluation of experiences and learning opportunities for students, and annual communication summary to the College’s Academic Office providing qualitative analysis of institutional effectiveness in conjunction to MSCHE standards.
