WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) Senior Associate, represents the First Line of Defense and is responsible for partnering with Internal Controls to ensure strong internal controls capabilities and remediation of the internal control environment for the represented business line and/or functional area. The Senior Associate will support the evolution of the associated Program, Standard and Procedure documentation. The Senior Associate works to identify, assess, and address various risks throughout the assigned business line.

Specifically, within I.T. Third Party Management the Senior Associate partners with Vendor Management Offices across technology across all U.S. entities to ensure governance and evidence of vendor oversight from service managers. The senior associate is tasked with ensuring efficiency of this oversight in addition to helping technology teams optimize vendor related costs and compliance.

The Senior Associate will meet with business partners on regular basis to review status of TPRM life cycle routines and project related progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with 2nd line TPRM
  • Develops training on policies and procedures concerning controls and risk management
  • Support annual enhancements of Technology Third Party Management Program, Standard and Procedure
    • Facilitate monthly entity working party meeting
    • Partner with 2nd line TPRM
    • Attend weekly risk forum and ensure any action drivers related to TPRM are opened appropriately
    • Support and co-ordinate all Regulatory, Audit and 2nd Line Reviews
    • Develops training on policies and procedures concerning controls and risk management
  • Attend weekly risk forum and ensure any action drivers related to TPRM are opened appropriately

    • Document and Optimize target operating model (TOM) delivering collective efficiency of execution between Tech TPM and local CIO vendor management hubs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree; Accounting, Business, Statistics, Risk Management, Information Systems, Finance, Economics or equivalent field or equivalent work experience
  • 5-9 years; Risk Management, Internal Controls, Auditing, Credit Management, relevant line of business experience and/or legal or regulatory experience

Competencies:

  • Probes for additional information, clarifies assumptions and confirms agreed-upon actions
  • Displays natural skepticism and curiosity to question the status quo and uncover issues
  • Reporting competency and advanced Excel skills required. The ability to merge and manipulate data from various sources in order to present executives with risk and opportunity analysis (pivot tables, vlookups, SUMIF formulas, data splicing and joining). Candidate must have the ability to normalize and aggregate data from multiple sources/formats into a usable data set for reporting and analysis. A working knowledge of Tableau, Sharepoint and PowerAutomate is preferred
  • Takes responsibility for achieving strong results while balancing multiple complex demands
  • Ability to support and/or lead Third Party Risk Management and Vendor related projects across multiple business lines deploying established project management skills
  • Uses information and data effectively and possesses problem solving skills to support a position/conclusion and present a logical case
  • Keeps everyone involved informed about progress and issues
  • Facilitates a good working environment in the team. Works towards shared goals contributing ideas and accepting change
  • Stays current with industry and regulatory trends and emerging risk issues and understands how the risks of the products and services the bank offers are viewed by the Second Line of Defense and Regulators
  • Takes action to enhance working relationships needed to achieve seamless workflow
  • Provides assistance and coaches less experienced team members
  • Communicates in a timely and straightforward manner
  • Executes risk management process and procedures without management direction, and demonstrates awareness of expected results
