Testing Tools Developer: Python & C++

Princeton , New Jersey

We are looking for a talented Python and C++ developer to enhance our testing tools that comprise the MIAX automated testing platform. These tools are used to test our cutting edge exchange technology ecosystem. This person's key responsibilities will be to enhance our automated testing tools by developing new features, developing interfaces to support connectivity options and to update the product to support multiple systems under test.

This person will work very closely with our Trading System developers, the Trading Operations Help Desk, Business Strategy (Product Management) and the Quality Assurance teams.

The MIAX automated testing platform is critical to ensuring the functionality of the trading system is working correctly. The major areas of responsibility for this position are:

• Translate business and technical requirements into an extensible, scalable and maintainable application.
• Analyze user needs and determine technical requirements.
• Deliver solutions in a timely fashion and in accordance with the MIAX SDLC methodology.
• Communication of plans and strategies across the team.
• Work in collaboration with other members of the development staff.

Organizational Structure
The developer will report to the Trading System Development management team.

Qualifications

• Experience developing on Linux based systems.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of HTML and XML a plus.
• Experience working with a large code base.
• Working knowledge of the Continuous Integration Testing model and related product such as Jenkins or Hudson a plus.
• Knowledge of the BOOST libraries and STL a plus.
• Knowledge of multicast a plus.
• Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology and always be on the lookout for new technologies that can help improve the product.
• Full software development life cycle experience in a mission critical environment.
• Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Programming concepts.
• FIX protocol knowledge a plus.
• Excellent S/W design skills and knowledge of advanced data structures.
• Must have strong Python and C++ knowledge and debugging skills.
• Requirements assessment, design, coding, testing and production support.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Knowledge of XML or JSON.
• In addition to Python, knowledge of various scripting languages such as Shell and Perl a big plus.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and socket programming.

Education and Experience

• 2 years of programming for a stock exchange or a Wall St. firm in a trading system environment a plus.
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT/Computer Science.
• 2 years of programming in a quality assurance environment a plus.
• 3 plus years of experience in Python and C++ development.
