Summary This Product Quality Engineer will own Quality for all three arms of the TAC COE including establishing a new Quality rhythm on the Aeroderivative (Aero) Gas Turbine product line being manufactured in Greenville. This role will be instrumental for our team to establish & implement a quality plan to ensure Aero are manufactured to the highest level of quality and maintaining the high quality in the GT Testing and Cyber arms. This will include leveraging established Turbine Assembly quality systems, where applicable, and adding enhancements where needed for the Aero product line.
- Maintain oversight and tracking of the existing Quality systems in Cyber and Testing.
- Develop gage quality and calibration plans.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize quality control processes for Gas Turbine Aero package unit Assembly.
- Utilize Root Cause Analysis process to prevent defects with cross-functional team, as needed.
- Develops knowledge of best practices and how Turbine Aero Cell integrates with others; builds awareness of the competition and the factors that differentiate our cell in the market
- Apply standard engineering techniques to assigned tasks and ensure that specific goals are met in terms of quality, quantity, and timeliness to meet goals
- This role requires daily on-site support for defect reporting and resolution
- Implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects, alone or as part of a multifunctional team, to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity
- Ownership of defect/NCN (Non-conforming Notice) reviews and disposition
- Maintain familiarity with assembly processes and measurement equipment/gages, as well as appropriate calibration and preventative maintenance
- Work with design engineering to improve drawing/design definition to support Lean manufacturing process improvements
- Maintain and improve process documentation in assigned areas to ensure consistent quality
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience and or relevant intern or co-op experience
- Prior leadership experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Established project management skills.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of GE systems
- Prior Gas Turbine component experience and knowledge preferred
