Summary:
The Terminal Operator will perform the essential functions of the coal transfer process in a safe, efficient, and timely manner as instructed by the Terminal Manager.
Essential Duties/Functions:
- Operation of mobile equipment, which includes, backhoes, bulldozers, and rubber-tired bucket loaders.
- Operators control conveyor systems that move materials from railcar, barge, or truck to and from stockpiles, processing station, or barge.
- Operate crane or hoisting equipment and maintain required training to operate.
- General light clean-up and maintenance required in the operation of all equipment.
- Possess a strong focus on safety and follow safety requirements for terminal
- Climb up & down rail car ladders to lock & unlock intermodal containers through the transfer process.
- Controls the speed and routing of materials or products to ensure shift goals are met.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all safety, attendance, operations & training guidelines/programs
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Years of Experience:
2-5 years’ experience in a construction, industrial operations, terminal, or dry material transfer environment. Experience in operating heavy equipment (preferably bulldozer, conveyor belts, backhoe, and cranes) is preferred.
Demands:
- Must be able to a rotating shift, including weekends
- Must be able to climb heights and work in confined spaces
- Must pass and maintain safety/operation requirements of manlift operation.
