Telemetry Monitoring Technician Day Shift 7Am-7:30Pm

Stamford Health is looking for a full time Telemetry Monitor Tech. This position is for Day shift 7am-7:30pm, 3 days a week 12 hours.

The Telemetry Monitor Technician provides monitored data to the Registered Professional Nurses and doctors on the cardiac and med/surg units; by continuously scanning all monitors at the central station, through periodic recording, reporting heart rates, and filing data. Under the direction of the supervisor/designee, provides a variety of tasks that directly and indirectly support care to the adult, the geriatric, and occasionally the adolescent patients in accordance with the Division of Patient Care philosophy, policies, and procedures

Documents and interprets patient’s rhythms at our central console at regular intervals to identify dysrhythmias with 100% accuracy. This is evidenced by obtaining and interpreting baseline rhythm strip on each monitored patient every eight hours.

Measures and documents accurately the PR and QRS intervals on new & existing patients with 100% accuracy. This is evidenced by mounting and documenting all the strips in the appropriate patient file.

Communicates with appropriate individuals and departments to facilitate safe and timely care of the monitored patient, by reporting any change in the patient’s EKG immediately.

Provides a safe, clean and orderly environment; contributing to efficient departmental operations in order to control cost and ensure productivity.

Communicates equipment malfunctions to the Biomed department, nurse manager and charge nurse.
