Job Description

Einstein/Jeffersonl in South Philadelphia is now hiring a Certified Telemetry Monitor Technician.

  • BLS Required
  • Part Time - 24 hours per week
  • Previous telemetry and/or patient care experience preferred
  • Weekend & Holiday Commitment
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must pass written Tele Rhythm Interpretation Exam (during interview)

Primary Responsibilities
Initiates, monitors and discontinues medical telemetry monitoring of assigned patient population. Reports all alarmconditions to appropriate nursing staff. Works in cooperation with the Patient Transport Department to assure properprocedures as related to telemetry monitoring are followed when moving patients on and off the telemetry system.Reports all telemetry related system malfunctions to the Clinical Engineering Department. Follows established policiesand procedures for admitting, discharging, documenting and reporting patient information.


Essential Functions

  • Ability to demonstrate proper customer service orientation and skills in problem solving
  • Proficiency in reading cardiac rhythms
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Proficiency in using telemetry equipment
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and unpredictable situations in a calm manner, exercising good judgment

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
