Job Description
The Advanced Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Program (AMTAP) is a United States Department of Labor (USDOL) Registered Apprenticeship. The AMTAP program will teach you how to build space flight hardware by providing a phased approach to learning with both classroom and hands-on learning opportunities at our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Courtland AL.
No Experience, no problem! This program will teach you everything you need to be successful.
*Must have ability to obtain Secret Clearance to work on classified programs*

Note: If you find that you do not enjoy working with your hands, it may be an indication that you could find being an apprentice within this program a frustrating experience, as these kinds of activities will consume a large portion of your time.
What you will be doing:
  • JSTD Limited Solder
  • Learn new technical skills such as torquing, encapsulation, point to point wiring, and reading engineering documents.
  • Paid $15.00/hr. with benefits during training (Offered Medical (HDHP), Dental and Vision Benefits)
  • Participate in a 5-to-7-week paid training program (continued participation is contingent upon successful completion of each prior step)
  • IPC 620 – Cable Harness Certification
  • Work 40 hours per week during training (4/10 schedule)

Post Training Details
  • If hired full-time post training program, various work shifts may be available. Facility is open 7-days per week.
  • Opportunities for potential full-time employment for graduating team members, including increase in base pay.

Basic Qualifications:
  • HS Education or Equivalent
  • Ability to demonstrate learning agility to pass both written and hands-on certification requirements
  • Ability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work various shifts (Monday-Thursday daytime/nighttime, Thursday-Sunday daytime/nighttime)
  • Ability to learn and work with ordnance processing.
  • This position will be located at a facility that requires special access.
  • Comfortable with using computer systems.
  • Hand eye coordination and fine dexterity skills
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with Aerospace Environment/ Experience in a production environment
  • Electronic/Electrical Theory background
  • Demonstrate integrity and conflict resolution characteristics
  • Experience with M.S. Office applications

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
