Technical Writer Iii Jobs

The Technical Writer will be part of the Lumen NaaS (Network as a Service) team. The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and deploying as we build a new digital experience for telecom services. The Technical Writer is an independent contributor who can work with minimal supervision and who is willing to think creatively and make independent decisions within the scope of their assigned work. This position will require communicating and documenting API processes, tutorials, user guides and API specifications for complex use cases and applications within Networking, IT Platform Applications, Communications and Cloud domains. This position will require close collaboration and communication with the agile development team, product management, customer experience, engineering and operations representatives. The position will have an active role in the definition and evolution of Lumen standard practices and procedures.

• Collaborate with internal teams, including Development, Engineering, QA, Product Management, and Support teams.
• Create and maintain the technical documentation for the Lumen NaaS experience, including architecture, specifications, processes, support procedures and other related materials.
• Create content for technical audiences, including technical case studies, white papers, knowledge base articles, developer portal content, and product demos
• Prepare and oversee the preparation of illustrations, sketches, diagrams, charts and screen captures.
• Acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, referring to technical specifications, engineering illustrations, and by using products in a lab environment.
• Create exceptional customer-facing documentation in the form of knowledge base articles, UI messaging, API developer guides, developer tutorials, processes, and system operations.
• Research and develop best practices for internal and external APIs and Lumen Developer Center documentation
• Research, write, edit, and revise content that is both engaging and accessible to user personas with both non-technical and technical backgrounds.
• Develop a comprehensive content strategy and maintain a content calendar

• Experience in Confluence, Jira, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Adobe
• Ability and experience in working effectively with teams but also independently or with minimal supervision.
• A great attitude - willingness to learn new skills, take initiative, and collaborate across teams.
• Experience in writing procedure, service manuals, tutorials, and API documentation
• Experience in defining and reviewing graphics, photographs, tables, figures, and engineering drawings and/or create graphic materials using screen capture tools, Microsoft PowerPoint, and web-based graphic design tools.
• Documentation for internal and external consumption
• Experience working with Agile software development teams
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical field.
• Experience as a Technical Writer in an IT development or Engineering environment.
• Experience in using web-based Content and Knowledge Management Systems to produce and maintain documentation, help define and maintain an effective documentation organization.
