Job Title: Etching & Penetrant Shift Lead

Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: EP

Reports to: EP Supervisor

Night Shift

Purpose:

This position is responsible for directing EP operations to ensure optimal safety, quality, and production. EP shift lead shall ensure all EP team members know and follow all EP standardized operating procedures. The shift lead shall ensure the following of operating schedules as this is critical to meeting customer demand and ensuring material flow.

General Duties:

• Coach and motivate employees and evaluate performance.
• Ensure all safety rules and regulations are being followed by Ep team members.
• Communicate with Maintenance team to ensure maximum machinery efficiency.
• Coordinate with other members of leadership team to ensure schedules are followed to meet customer demand.
• Prepare daily production reports, and maintain appropriate records.
• Assign work according to designated priorities in order to maintain scheduled completion dates.
• Maintain good working relationships with fellow shift leads, quality control inspection personnel, and other departments/ to ensure production needs are met.

• Ability to keep an orderly work area and follow 6s standards
• Ensuring consistent basic quality standards and procedures
• Determines performance and product quality and has direct responsibility for that performance.
• Promotes, maintains, and enforces safe and healthy working conditions for all employees in accordance with regulatory requirements and Company standards.
• Other duties as assigned by the EP supervisor
• Ensure all chemical tanks levels and concentration are within specifications.
• Ensure proper training of all new EP team members.
• Promotes, maintains, and enforces a safe working environment for all Ep team members.

Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to troubleshoot
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited schedule standardization exists
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Requirements:

• Understanding of 6s concept
• Experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Etching and Penetrant or related experience preferred.
