JOB SUMMARY

The Team & Community Impact Coordinator plays a key role for Team & Community Impact at POET, which drives our wellness and community impact initiatives. Our goal is to build and maintain a culture of wellness and servant-hearted leadership in and outside the walls of POET. The Team & Community Impact Coordinator acts as a liaison between Team & Community Impact, POET team members, and partners within our local communities. This role reports to the VP of Team & Community Impact.


DURING A TYPICAL DAY

  • Collaborating with the appropriate teams to conduct research and prepare correspondence, memoranda, reports, presentations, spreadsheets, budgets, etc... Composing and initiating routine correspondence independently to address project activities.
  • Fostering and maintaining team member and community relationships.
  • Assisting with the organization of community impact requests, as well as screening request calls, emails and gathering any necessary information to make informed decisions.
  • Managing communication efforts to include verbal responses, written correspondence, reports, official business meeting minutes, and presentations from initial drafts to final documents.
  • Managing and maintaining appointment calendars, which may include making decisions related to the scheduling of appointments and engagements.
  • Providing important background information to the VP of Team & Community Impact and other members of the team as needed prior to meetings to ensure they are prepared/informed on matters deemed necessary.
  • Utilizing organizational skills to arrange and coordinate details as needed for meetings and events: time/location, logistics, invitations, food/beverage, equipment, etc.
  • Since we’re all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skill may be put to a lot of other uses!
  • Maintaining confidential databases, mailing lists, meeting agendas, and meeting minutes as needed.


STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • You know the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and are capable of learning new programs.
  • You have a passion to change the world and improve the lives of others.

  • You are capable of planning, organizing, thinking through, and scheduling priorities.
  • You are able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times.
  • You have excellent time management skills.

  • You have a passion for people, connection, and building relationships.
  • You are able to exercise discretion, initiative, and independent judgment in developing creative solutions and making thoughtful decisions.
  • You have 2-5 years of related experience, preferably in an administrative or customer service-related role.
  • You are resourceful and thrive in an environment that encourages life balance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position operates in an office environment working at a personal computer where you may sit or stand.
  • Up to 25% travel will be part of the norm for this position to visit the bioprocessing facilities, meetings and community partner visits. At times overnight travel may be required.
