Teaching Assistant (Elementary Classroom Support/Crisis Intervention) - Broadalbin-Perth Central School District

The Broadalbin-Perth Central School District is seeking candidates for a full-time term teaching assistant position at B-P Elementary School starting Sept. 1, 2023. The successful candidate will work with students in kindergarten through sixth grades, individually, and in groups, on special instructional projects including, but not limited to, teaching students:

• Self-regulation
• Impulse control
• Emotional control
• Appropriate communication
• Social skills

In collaboration with faculty, the successful candidate will implement social-emotional learning curricula, behavior plans, and behavioral supports. The district will provide training in crisis response following Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) methods. The successful candidate will work with and report to the district's coordinated care team and perform other duties as determined by the building administrator.
The hourly wage for this position is $16.60 per hour. The successful candidates will be eligible for benefits as defined in the local CSEA contract.
