Job Title: Teacher – Non-Certified Immediate Supervisor: Campus Director
Salary Range: $45,000.00 - $66,000.00 Contract Length: 190 Days

Provides students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Promotes the mission and vision of the district.
Illustrative Duties:

  • Refers students for evaluation by district specialists as required.
  • Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees.
  • Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for support staff and works with department heads.
  • Assesses the accomplishments of the students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Maintains and improves professional competences.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and goals of the school.
  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with colleagues.
  • Prepares lessons that reflect accommodations for individual differences.
  • Encourages students to maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect the students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintains open lines of communication.
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student conduct. Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior. Maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  • Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
  • Makes provisions for being available to the students and to the parents for education-related purposes.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Participates in district staff development.

Experience Requirements: * Strong knowledge of reading, writing, literacy development, and/or math

  • Good communication skills in a professional manner both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a team

Educational Requirements: * Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Master’s a plus

Other Requirements: * Maintains good attendance.

  • Exhibits the willingness and flexibility to accept change.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
  • Dedication and willingness to do whatever it takes to help students achieve personal and academic success.

  • Ability to travel throughout the district and city by means of private or public transportation. If driving personal (or private) vehicle, must possess a valid driver’s license and appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus; judge distance (close and distant); reach with arms extended and use hands to manipulate the keyboard.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, bend, climb, and/or be mobile.
