Job Summary
Canyon Oaks Elementary School has a 1st Grade Elementary 1.0 FTE position
Requirements / Qualifications
Applicant needs to have a thorough understanding of how children develop literacy and numeracy skills and be able to develop standards based lessons without relying on textbook publishers. Applicant should be well versed in Project Based learning. Teacher should be proficient with PBIS and Restorative Practices in order to create the most dynamic, collaborative learning environment possible. Teacher must be able to provide evidence of their ability to build classroom cultures of students who are connected, engaged and challenged throughout each and every day. Applicant must provide references that speak of his/her ability to work as a viable member of a PLC. This teacher needs to produce evidence that shows how instruction and learning is enhanced through the use of a variety of technologies. Teacher applicants must have the willingness to reach out and bring in both families and community members to serve as experts, sit on panels and provide feedback to students as they present projects. The single most important attribute we are looking for is a willingness to learn. We want an applicant who is passionate about student learning and believes we must "do" education differently. Candidates must hold an English Learner Authorization (ELA) or be eligible for Emergency ELA permit while working on earning an ELA.
