ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT


As a three-time John Irwin Award recipient, Sierra is a high achieving school nestled in the Ralston Valley articulation area of Arvada. Our new state of the art facility offers a variety of learning environments and opportunities to meet the needs of all learners, including: site-based GT resource teacher, SSN3 program, and a variety of other programs and supports for our students. Sierra is committed to small class sizes and ensuring that all students have In-Field teachers. Throughout the school day, Sierra focuses on educating the whole child by incorporating mindfulness activities, providing structured brain breaks, offering regular specials (Art, Music, and P.E.), and preparing students to be responsible citizens in the 21st century. Each classroom is equipped with interactive projectors, audio enhancement, 1-to-1 devices in all K-5 classes. Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $66,989.54 Effective as of: 08-16-2022


**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.


Certain Education Support Professional (ESP) jobs may include the value of holiday pay into the hourly rate. Review the Holiday in Rate column of the Education Support Professional Job Title, Wage Plan, Grade document.


RESPONSIBILITIES


SUMMARY: Responsible for instructing students in an elementary grades K-6. Creates lesson plans, instructs students on core subjects such as science, literature, and math, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional preparedness based on the District's Core Curriculum. Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
Participate in ongoing training sessions.
Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.
Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.
Utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning.
Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
Utilize District curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Prepare and distribute parent communications.
Observe and evaluate student's performance.
Manage student behavior in the classroom creating appropriate behavior strategies.
