ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Ralston Elementary is located in the Genesee Park and Lookout Mountain neighborhoods of Colorado's Front Range foothills. Ralston is part of the Golden articulation area, however, many students move onto choice middle and high schools. There are currently 250 students enrolled at Ralston in kindergarten through 5th grade. We are proud of our history of high academic achievement and growth, including earning the National Blue Ribbon Award. We are equally proud of our focus on the whole child, hosting full-time Art, Music, and Physical Education, Jeffco's first Kindness Crew, and a commitment to small class sizes. We emphasize content integration, authentic tasks, project-based learning, STEM Lab, meaningful integration of technology, and innovative practices. Ralston is a collaborative community with involved and supportive families. The Ralston community places a high value on the strong relationships students, teachers, and families build. Our expectation is that educators will maintain and model a growth mindset with a focus on collaboration and research-based innovation as we continually work to leverage strength areas and refine our knowledge base and teaching practices.

Maintaining our positive, collegial and supportive culture is a priority; together we achieve more!

ABOUT THE JOB

A stong AMP experience is important to the Ralston Elementary community, therefore we dedicate budget to maintaing full time Art, Music and P.E. for our school. For example, in addition to teaching physical education our PE teacher organizes a multitude of additional activities including a before school running club, Kids Heart Challenge, Run 4 Ralston (a full day fundraising event for students), the Ralston Elevation 5K (for all ages), organizing Golden Gallop participation, and a variety of other school events to engage the community. Our AMP teachers also support our classrom teachers whenever possible.
Our beautiful mountain setting is conducive to outdoor P.E. classes on our athletic field and our families value this experience for their students.
