Ralston Valley High School (RVHS) is an award-winning high school located in Arvada, CO. A highly qualified staff and faculty facilitate the learning of more than 1,800 students. The comprehensive nature of Ralston Valley High School's academic program supports college-bound students and meets the needs of all Mustangs. In addition to 42 Advanced Placement and honors courses, Ralston Valley High School offers a wide range of courses in arts, humanities, and STEM-related fields.

Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $66,989.54 Effective as of: 08-16-2022
**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.

RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY Responsible for instructing secondary level students in appropriate subject areas as they relate to physical education and in coordination with current curriculum and within the framework of District and state content standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Collaborate with content teams to adapt Health and Wellness curriculum to students to provide lifelong fitness and healthy lifestyle opportunities.
Teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms, dance, team sports and other related activities as adopted by the district curriculum guidelines.
Collaborate with staff to provide quality and adaptive programming for Special Education Students with IEP's.
Analyze, demonstrate and explain basic skills, knowledge's and strategies of formal sports, games and fundamentals of body movement.
Provide appropriate safety instruction and make safety checks on equipment and field areas to insure the over-all safety of students.
Maintain all school owned property and equipment.
Communicate with parents or other school personal on student progress.
Participate in school meetings and functions and is an integral part of the staff.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION Bachelor's degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
EXPERIENCE Classroom experience in instructing students is preferred.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, or CERTIFICATIONS Valid Colorado teaching license or authorization with appropriate endorsements. CPR and First Aid certifications as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS Normal routine levels of activity related to standing, walking and sitting for the majority of the day; While performing the duties of this the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; squat, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch; and climb or balance. The employee occasionally be required to lift, pull, push, and carry weights up to 10 lbs. Vision demands include the ability to adjust focus, close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), and distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more.) Ability to meet physical needs of students. May also involve above-average levels of activity at times that cannot always be anticipated.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Primarily working inside in a school-setting including classrooms and gymnasiums with the occasional need to work in outdoor weather conditions either in cold or hot temperatures.
