Transitional Child Care (TCC) is responsible for processing child care applications for families transitioning from Cash Assistance and are eligible for subsidized child care services under the one-year Transitional Benefits program. The Transitional Child Care Case Processor processes cases and works with families to ensure that appropriate documents are received so that transitional child care services are continued. The TCC Case Processor also assists the CFWB reception area with services ranging from answering child-care related questions to assisting walk-in clients in need of adjustments to current cases and processing of new cases.
Reporting to the TCC Supervisor, the TCC Case Processor has the following responsibilities:
  • Data-enter active and/or new case data into control log and Automated Child Care Information System (ACCIS)
  • Respond to telephone and in-person requests from parents and providers for basic Child and Family Well-Being information.
  • Review submitted Child Care subsidy applications for completeness of content and documentation.
  • Determine Transitional Child Care Eligibility.
  • Open and record received mail/emails into log.
  • Research discrepancies in case record data.
  • Scan, Index and maintain case record files.
  • Mail-out Child Care subsidy Disapprovals or Approvals, and appropriate informational forms.
  • Assist Supervisors with special projects/reports/tasks.

Minimum Qual Requirements

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.

Additional Information

Section 424-A of the New York Social Services Law requires an authorized agency to inquire whether a
candidate for employment with child-caring responsibilities has been the subject of a child abuse and
maltreatment report.
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $40,017 - $46,019.

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
