Job Description

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held organization, with roots firmly planted in agriculture and agriculture-related businesses. The J.R. Simplot Company is a true farm-to-table company with operations that touch every aspect of agriculture, including seed production, farming and ranching, plant sciences, fertilizer manufacturing, food processing, commercial product development, and distribution.

Summary

Under general supervision completes a variety of moderately complex indirect tax accounting activities involving sales, property and excise tax, and assist with research and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Timely preparation and filing of all required reports involving multiple government agencies and deadlines.
  • Researching indirect tax issues and laws.
  • Establishing procedures and methods for tax compliance and reporting.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

  • One to three years experience required.
  • Adheres to all standards, policies and systems as appropriate.

Other Information

  • Some experience with audits. (desirable)
  • Some experience in tax planning & forecasting.
  • Experience in indirect tax issues with an emphasis in sales tax compliance
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills.
