Job Description
Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist


Location: Huntsville, AL


Canvas, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a mid-level Talent Acquisition Specialist to support their corporate office in Huntsville, AL with recruitment activities! The Talent Acquisition Specialist reports to the Talent Acquisition Lead. Also, this individual will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.


Required Experience & Skills


  • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
  • Works with PM and Project Control to develop ROMs for new positions and provides weekly updates for open and filled positions.
  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Plans and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Supports PM with forecasting manpower and resource needs.
  • Track, compile, and complete contract deliverables to ensure submission to the customer in a timely manner.
  • Ensures candidates meet experience requirements and education levels as stated in the labor category contract requirements and completed Labor Category Verification forms.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Supports PM with tracking, reporting, and communicating budget and schedule data.
  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Knowledge of federal contracts (PWS/SOW/PRS/CDRLS/LCATs/etc.)
  • Technical recruiting experience is required.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Provides weekly updates to Leadership on contract status.
  • Experience supporting DOD federal contracts.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resources staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.


Education Requirement


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
