Systems Design Engineer Jobs

The System Design Engineer is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and understanding fire alarm systems for coordination and design purposes; revise drawings as needed from quality control and/or AHJ/client reviews. Print, Plot, and process drawings for internal and external use. Advise Technical Services Manager of potential issues or scheduling concerns due to changes and revisions.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to conduct site survey in conjunction with sales department to determine a sales estimate to include costs for parts and labor, etc.
• Ability to identify and evaluate problems that arise. Provide proactive solutions to management.
• Complete design requests in accordance with company policies and standards and all-encompassing business practices.
• Develop full scale project plans and define project tasks and resources requirements.
• Provide direction and support to technicians assigned to projects.
• Review individual drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Responsible for communicating effectively with Manager and other departments to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Provide designs for commercial projects to include all fire alarms, access control systems, video surveillance cameras and security systems.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Present project progress to Manager and other departments as needed.
• Work with sales, operations, and staff to interpret specific project specifications, drawings, and system layout.

Education and Experience:

• Fire design and Fire system experience
• Five years of work experience or equivalent experience
• NICET Level 3 required.
• Working knowledge of PC’s and Windows software
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management discipline
