Chesapeake Public Works – Engineering division is seeking a goal oriented and dependable individual to perform essential services for Survey and Drafting.

The City of Chesapeake is hiring a full-time Survey Party Technician. Your work product will be the backbone of storm drainage and transportation projects that improve the level of safety and quality of life for Chesapeake residents. The ideal candidate will have two years of experience in land surveying or a closely related field.

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Requires high school diploma or GED and any combination of education and experience equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education in land surveying, engineering, or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
