MARINE AIR CONDITIONING & REFRIGERATION SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Industrial and Marine Air Conditioning and Refrigeration repair facility in Chesapeake, VA & Jacksonville, FL is hiring Marine HVAC Technicians. This is a full-time, long-term position; offering competitive pay being DOE. In special circumstances, we are willing to assist in job relocation.

QUALIFICATIONS (include but not limited to):

• Navy veterans that were in the A gang/machinists mates would qualify for this position.
• Must be a dependable, motivated self-starter, organized and professional in manner and appearance, take pride in work, and with great people skills.
• Applicants must be able to utilize the knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe-fitting, electrical, mechanical layouts, commercial chiller, and HVAC controls.
• **Marine and/or Commercial HVAC experience is required**

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform installations, repairs, overhauls, and start-ups of marine HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Prepare for on-site installation and repairs by examining boat layout, anticipate difficulties, gather materials and coordinate on-site work, as necessary.
• Experience with water source heat pumps and refrigeration is a plus.
• Perform preventative maintenance, survey, replacement, and modification as needed or requested by customers
• Perform service on warranty and non-warranty systems.
• Provide technical support to customers.
• Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repairs systems and products onboard vessels
• Use a variety of hand tools, following blueprints, wiring diagrams, piping schemes, or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
• Document work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files and reports.
• Use power tools.
• Maintain tools and equipment by inspecting for signs of wear.
• Install, retrofit, and repair marine air conditioning and refrigeration systems-mainly on Navy ships. (We do not deploy with the vessels)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 lbs while traveling on and off vessels

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.

• Occasional travel requirements with possible overnight travel

Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
