Support Technician, Substance Abuse

The support tech functions under the supervision of the registered nurse, serving the unit in two distinct roles according to assignment. In a priority role, the support tech serves as an escort and assists with distribution of trays and menus. In a second capacity, the support tech serves as the unit desk support by answering telephones, stocking supplies/equipment, filing and ensuring a clean and uncluttered environment of care. The support tech provides nursing support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
Must successfully pass an AHCA Level 2 screening for this position.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated excellence in public contact skills (respect for others, courteous, tactful).
• High school graduate or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology.
• Dependability, ability to accept direction and interact with others as a team member essential.
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve, prioritize and display initiative.
• Clerical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Demonstrated computer experience.
