Job Summary:
Under general supervision, functions as the healthcare provider on the Support Team Assisted Response (STAR) vehicle. Attends to patients encountered during STAR response. Provides support to the clinical social worker assigned to STAR and transfers clients and or patients when appropriate. Safely operates department vehicles in non-emergency modes. Provides other support functions for the STAR program.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to provide verbal communications/instructions in a constructive and informative fashion.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with other personnel and ancillary services with the customer’s best interest in mind.
  • Knowledge of Paramedic Division and STAR policies.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change and implements design change as indicated.
  • Ability to deal with queries or complaints from the public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment to establish priorities, review work and resolve problems.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams – internal and external to Denver Health.
  • Ability to provide written communications in a timely, complete and accurate manner.
Education:
H.S. diploma or GED required.
Experience:
One year experience in Emergency Medicine, or related field required.
Certificates, Licenses and Registration:
  • Possession of a valid Colorado Class “R” Driver’s License required.
  • Possession of a current Colorado Emergency Medical Technician Certificate required.
