Job Description

The Supply Chain Operations Manager (SCOM) is responsible for all aspects of the supply chain including the overseeing and the managing of the commercial supply chain operations for Nobelpharma America (NPA). The SCOM will be responsible for contributing to forecasting of supply requirements and for handling the distribution process for commercial products and clinical trial materials, while driving ongoing process improvement.

The SCOM will work closely with the parent company, Nobelpharma Corporation (NPC), to plan, order, and receive products and act as the US CBP Importer of Record to coordinate customs and FDA clearance into the USA and will work closely with the NPA-specified contract packaging establishment (CPO) and distribution operation as NPA’s partner to establish relationships and collectively work to maintain and improve serialization infrastructure and distribution infrastructure for shipments and overall operational readiness.


Duties I Responsibilities:

Optimizes the operations of logistics, supplier, manufacturer and distribution partners for reliability, rapid response, flexibility, cost, and quality

Sets high standards for operations and compliance to meet or exceed regulatory agency requirements

Proactively manages risk, defines impact of risks and develops mitigation plans

Maintains seamless interactions cross-functionally, including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Sales and Marketing, and varied external partners

Leadership of DSCSA-compliant serialization infrastructure to on-board Specialty Pharmacies. Leads implementation, ensuring overall serialized product traceability in a 2023 DSCSA Interoperable model

Plays a key role in the implementation of the ERP system, ensuring overall inventory management and Order-to­ Cash implementation in collaboration with the Finance & Accounting department

Works closely with the contract packaging organization's Distribution Team partners as they cost-effectively manage the transport, logistics and distribution of products

•Develops, modifies, and maintains standard operating procedures for all supply chain activities and other areas as required

Reviews, audits and recommends supplier partners for drug products and devices

Develops, executes and manages Supply Agreements

Leads the development and optimization of robust drug product supply chain processes for commercial manufacturing

•Works closely with the NPA Commercial Team and Specialty Pharmacy Trading Partners and plays a key role in executing a unique strategy for unit level serialization/aggregation, storage, case quantity order pick & pack work instructions, material transport to Specialty Pharmacies, inventory management of short-dated products into the sales channel and PAP programs, and a compliant, specialty, closed distribution model


Supports successful technology transfers to contract manufacturing and warehousing organizations

Supports all aspects of logistics, purchasing, product planning, and distribution

Provides process improvements, trouble shooting, and varied investigations as needed

Fosters a culture of open communication and effective collaboration

Required education and experience:

•Bachelors in supply chain, logistics, science, business, engineering, or other relevant discipline preferred

• At least 3-5 years of Pharma/Biotech or related industry in the Procurement or Supply Chain function in support of a GMP-compliant manufacturing environment

•Comfortable working with ERP systems

•Exposure to product planning, purchasing, logistics, distribution and manufacturing

•Dynamic, pragmatic, and passionate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

•Expert knowledge of Project Management Tools, techniques, brainstorming, problem-solving and promoting solutions.

•Leadership, collaboration and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to problem solve and drive positive change.

•Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers.

•Strong attention to detail with the ability to focus on assignments and seek assistance as needed to meet operational needs.

•Fluent in MS Office applications particularly MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.


Preferred Education and Experience:

•Advanced Science Degree

•Experience working for pharmaceutical or biotech companies

•Working in a startup environment

•Experience with software validation and implementation

•Experience in Lean Manufacturing a plus
