Job Description

Harvestone Commodities, LLC is a marketing, trading, and logistics company with an investment base of ethanol producers. Headquartered in Franklin, TN, Harvestone is managed by an established team with nearly a decade of experience working together for a combined 70+ years of industry knowledge. Our focus is on aligning with our producer partners to aggregate and distribute biofuels to our customers by prioritizing value creation, leveraging our scale and expertise to optimize supply chain inefficiencies, and trading as a mechanism for enhancing supply chain value across the platform.

This full-time position will work across the organization with focus on the marketing, scheduling, and coordination of ethanol movements pursuant to commercial activity to continue growing Harvestone’s supply and trading business.

Responsibilities

Business Operations:

  • Ensure freight costs, product movements, planned shipments, and inventory balances are reflected accurately in internal systems and reporting
  • Waybill railcars and dispatch trucks daily and as needed to ensure on time performance
  • Verify and process detention and demurrage transactions and field questions as needed
  • Manage producer partner fleets: OTMAs, troubleshooting, handle all communication for bad order/repair cars, execution of on/off leasing and distribution of confirms, maintenance of active fleet
  • Coordination and alignment with origin and destination counterparties (sales/operations) on logistics and sales plan
  • Produce and distribute daily position update highlighting opportunities and concerns
  • Provide input on process improvements when issues are identified
  • Manage purchase and sale contracts for ratability, meeting obligations, and cut/roll
  • Obtain, communicate, and maintain all freight rates and associated fees
  • Manage inventories at multiple ethanol plants and outbound destination inventories terminals & transloads
  • Analyze rail location data, identifying trends and anomalies and provide recommendations for fleet size optimization
  • Obtain, maintain and distribute all documents related to shipments of ethanol (BOLs, customs forms, COAs, inspection)


Commercial Operations

  • Procure and negotiate freight rates
  • Develop and manage relationships with transportation providers, customers, and producer partners
  • Update & distribute Forward and Historical position reports


Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Degree track ag business, economics, logistics, management, or related fields preferred


Key Attributes Desired

  • Ability to multitask in a face pace environment
  • Understand regulatory compliance considerations and safety guidelines for HAZMAT transportation
  • Self-starter with high motivation and intellectual curiosity with a bias to logical problem solving
  • Ethanol supply chain dynamics including market accessibility and product origination preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel
