Supply Chain Buyer

The Position:

The primary role of the buyer is to develop, execute, monitor, and manage the demand and supply plan for service spare parts. Tasked with using internal forecast data, historical system data and other inputs to develop demand plans, along with providing purchase execution, guidance and management of supply plans required to support corporate goals and objectives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check parts inventory availability when needed
  • Update and audit spare parts BOMs in system
  • Provide reporting, KPI updates and metric data related to purchasing
  • Special projects as needed like physical inventory or cycle count
  • Assist to build safety stock level to minimize stock outs
  • Create and execute purchases and perform purchase order maintenance using ERP system
  • Work with supply chain planner, Warehouse and HQ team on potential material delays, supplier disruptions, inventory discrepancies, etc.
  • Identify and implement most cost effective and efficient way for local purchase
  • Assist to set and maintain spare parts safety stock, re-order points, lead time and delivery frequencies
  • Develop and manage appropriate inventory levels to maintain customer service targets
  • Track daily spare parts requests and provide feedback to customers at a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers for parts related matters
  • Assist to identify parts number in BOM
  • Support new product introduction projects.
  • Enter HQ inbounds and outbounds for service parts in BYD at a timely manner


Preferred Qualifications for Supply Chain Buyer:

  • Understanding of the use of technology tools that enable demand and supply planning and reporting
  • Functional knowledge of planning, forecasting, purchasing execution and supplier relationship management


Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong computer skills, proficient with MS office Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Strong mathematical/statistical abilities
  • Strong attention to details
  • Experience with Airtable, Planning and ERP systems preferred
  • Great customer service mind-set and follow up skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience
  • Multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • APICS certified CPIM, CFPIM or CSCP desired
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence
  • 2 + years related procurement/supply chain experience


Work Location and Status:

  • Preferably located near Phoenix, Arizona or Houston, Texas in the United States
  • No visa sponsorship
  • Full time and remote position
