HOW YOU WILL DO IT


Purpose Statement: This position provides direction for Supplier Quality processes at the sites level, acting as a key point of escalation and liaison between site Supplier Quality Engineers, suppliers, and the customer to ensure that overall product specifications, quality/regulatory requirements, and expectations are met for all purchased products.


Key Job Accountabilities:


  • Supplier Quality Management System - Management of supplier quality systems and tools, inclusive of verification of purchased product processes, NCM, SCAR, supplier performance data collection and flow-down requirements at the site level.
  • Part Qualification - Manage the execution of part qualification activities at the Site level to ensure Q-Code and inspection plan requirements are verified and documented. Manage part qualification/verification requirements for Customer BOM at the part number level (non-full value stream projects).
  • Supplier & Part Approval - Manage the execution of supplier assessment and development activities at the Site level to ensure supplier capabilities meet current and future strategic growth requirements including regulatory and customer Quality Management System requirements and applicable process/product qualification and controls.
  • Strategy - Manage and lead the site SQE team to execute global Supplier Quality strategy to develop key supplier capability for strategic growth and supplier processes to enable flawless execution. Maintain, review, and approve all Supplier Quality QMS documentation.
  • Material Issues - Lead problem part resolution through all phases of operations, including containment, segregation, NCM review, and trend analysis activities relative to supplied non-conforming parts. Responsible for leading required supplier corrective action activities resulting from non-conforming parts.
  • Supplier Performance Monitoring - Manage supplier quality performance metrics at the site level, inclusive of product yield, scar response rates and DTS performance. Provide necessary supplier feedback to drive supplier performance improvement. Produce supplier metrics to support customer and supplier business reviews.


Additional Accountabilities:


  • Identification, assessment and qualification of new and existing suppliers including on-site initial audits.
  • Manage SCAR/FA and continuous improvement systems.
  • Initiation and execution of Supplier Development activities.
  • Monitoring and drive improvement of site Supplier Quality and Supplier Performance Metrics.
  • Manage Supplier Quality and Receiving Inspection personnel.


Education/Experience Qualifications:


  • 7 years of related experience is required.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required: a Master’s degree is preferred.


An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.


Other Qualifications:


  • ASQ Certification preferred (CQE, CQA, CMQOE)     
  • Broad understanding of materials, manufacturing technologies and processes
