Job Description

Provides leadership as well as the tools to continuously improve supplier quality. Plans, oversees and administers the supplier quality assurance program to ensure supplier optimum quality and production reliability at the most economic costs with internal and external customers.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Sets direction and measures effectiveness of implemented supplier quality management systems.
  • Coordinates and executes supplier quality duties across the location: supplier quality improvements; system improvements; best practices supplier quality initiatives; and training
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management; department budget.
  • Coordinates the quality management system certification process
  • Manages quality system policies and procedures by administering and coordinating supplier quality policies and practices designed to improve supplier quality & reduce costs
  • Represents the company’s quality interests for the location with suppliers and customers; participates in customer feedback gathering and focuses to improve customer satisfaction
  • Develops effective supplier quality measurements and reports results to leadership team and others across division at multiple locations both domestic and/or international;


Job Skills Requirements:

  • Demonstrated success implementing large-scale improvements in complex and diverse environments both domestic and/or international
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and team oriented communication skills to effectively work with diverse groups of people
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Thorough knowledge of quality practices and procedures including Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO requirements
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment in guiding quality team in solving practical problems with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there may/may not be standardization
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge and background of quality and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated project management and effective facilitation skills


Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent education and experience.


Experience Requirements:

  • Prior leadership and management experience preferred.
  • Typically requires seven years of quality or related professional experience.


Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Domestic and/or International travel as required up to 25%.
