- Develop, implement, and improve quality management systems by partnering with external product and service providers to meet requirements of ISO9001 through training, compliance and certification.
- Develop and lead innovative, high-performing supplier quality management teams by exercising strong leadership and judgment shills to acquire, develop, train, coach, cultivate, and manage talented, responsive, customer-centric supplier quality engineers.
- Establish robust criteria for approval of products, processes, and services by documenting processes and methods shown to optimize product conformities and freight charges, reduce disruptions, enhance delivery performance, and sharing notifications related to quality or delivery issues, returns, warranty field actions, or product recalls
- Ensure a robust, documented supplier selection and compliance process by completing supplier approval assessments, including on-site visitations, reviewing results, identifying deficiencies and gaps, developing supplier actions plans that address issues, and verifying the effectiveness of completed supplier actions plans.
- Define and manage the required controls to externally provided products and services by partnering with Procurement/Sourcing to ensure that externally provided processes, products and services consistently conform to requirements.
- Prevent externally provided products and services adversely impacting products by defining and implementing effective controls and verifications for external providers, products and services, conducting risk analyses on end-product and process performance, and identifying statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements that supplied products and services must meet
- Determine the priority, type, extent, and timing of required supplier development actions by analyzing performance issues identified through supplier monitoring, second-party audit findings, third-party quality management system certification status, and risk analysis, then implementing actions necessary to resolve open performance issues
- Develop a document external provider supplier assessment program by defining methodologies for supplier risk assessments, supplier monitoring, QMS development, and product and process audits. Based on risk analysis, identify, schedule, and execute second party assessments, both remote and on-site
- Enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring that customer specified sourcing requirements are documented, implemented, monitored, and maintained
- Self-starter capable of leading cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree in engineering related discipline. Chemical Engineering degree, or equivalency, preferred
- Able to successfully manage challenging situations, and generate executive summaries for internal and external customers
- Expansive industry knowledge an advantage
- 10+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field
- Previous Supplier Quality experience essential
- Solid understanding on quality tools such as statistical process control, Six Sigma, Lean, process improvements, yield improvements, cycle time reductions, pareto charts, root cause analysis, failure modes, test procedures, gauge reliability and repeatability, First Article Inspection (FAI), statistical process capability (CpK)
- Substantial experience, including active participation, in external audits
- Results oriented, driven individual
- ERM experience required, JD Edwards E1 familiarity advantageous
