Summary


As the Supplier Quality Engineer within our Blue Arc EV ™ team based at our revamped state-of-the-art manufacturing campus in Charlotte, MI , you will be accountable for monitoring supplier quality and delivery and for establishing and maintaining a professional relationship between the company and the quality department for each supplier.


A s the point of contact for all supplier component quality correspondence and for resolving all supplier quality issues for Blue Arc's product line, you will play a crucial role in driving supplier delivery improvement in all areas. Additionally, you will be involved with monitoring supplier quality performance (PPM) and partnering with suppliers regarding corrective actions.

  • Occasionally traveling to key suppliers to ensure successful delivery and quality resolution
  • Developing supplier action plans to improve delivery or quality ratings
  • Engaging in discussions on supplier quality issues with Executives, other plants, and departments
  • Providing suppliers' Delivery and PPM data for KPI tracking
  • Examining trends, creating Pareto charts, and maintaining control charts
  • Collaborating with Shyft internal teams to address supplier delivery and quality issues
  • Conducting supplier quality audits of current and potential suppliers
  • Monitoring supplier report cards and providing relevant feedback
  • Ensuring the resolution of Supplier quality issues escalated from the Quality department
  • Collaborating with the Quality team to facilitate supplier containment activities
  • Establishing and maintaining true partnerships with the supply base
  • Mentoring, developing, and training suppliers on Shyft supplier processes, including expectations and requirements for problem resolution and overseeing the resolution of Supplier delivery issues
  • Providing quality support to new product launches and conducting quality training
  • Developing and mentoring suppliers in delivery and quality improvements
  • Partnering with Sourcing Agents with requests for PPAP submissions
  • Auditing the delivery process and creating action plans to achieve 100% on-time delivery
  • Joining forces with the Quality department to expedite the PPAP approval process


Qualifications


  • Proficient in driving Supplier Delivery enhancements and attaining concrete results
  • History of handling multiple projects concurrently and meeting deadlines
  • Verified leadership and business skills and a reputation for making timely and sound decisions
  • 3+ years of successful expertise in a Quality or Supplier Delivery and Quality role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Robust interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
