The Job

WB Games is looking for a Research Ops Supervisor for its User Research team with a strong interest in supporting the day-to-day work of the research team.

At Warner Bros. Games, we’re excited to partner with Path Forward to support returners like you. We appreciate the skills, experiences, and perspectives that you bring to our company and teams.

Our six-month, paid returnship program is set aside for returning caregivers like you! The positions are open to professionals with at least five years of experience who are returning to the workforce after a career break for caregiving of one or more years. If you meet these criteria, we welcome you to apply!

During the returnship, you’ll have the opportunity to sharpen your skills, update your resume with new experience, make connections, contribute to a team, and possibly convert to a full-time position. Along the way, you’ll receive invaluable advice and professional development support from Warner Bros. Games managers and from Path Forward.

As the Research Ops Supervisor, your focus is on maintaining and expanding the infrastructure of the research team’s daily operations. The ideal candidate is motivated to support their team with lab and tool maintenance, recruitment, communication, and resources to maximize the effectiveness of the research team, enabling them to do their best work.

The Daily

  • Assist with the creation of a research strategy and budget that effectively supports the research team in accomplishing its goals, including the recruitment of research participants
  • Ensure we have the adequate resources to execute vendor agreements and coordinate with vendors to meet required deadlines
  • Create and maintain documentation for our in-lab tools
  • Onboard and supervise the execution of operations tasks with full-time and contract User Research personnel
  • Manage legal document pipeline and policies and keep up to date with any guidelines from the legal team
  • Conduct regular maintenance of the research labs’ hardware (computer stations, research tools) and software (licenses, updates) to ensure the team can meet research goals
  • Continuously seek ways to expand and improve the research labs’ tools and processes
  • Supervise the scheduling and productivity of labs
  • Oversee and develop research labs at multiple sites to support numerous research projects globally
  • Establish and execute on project-based infrastructure goals as agreed upon by User Research management
  • Support efforts to craft and maintain a stakeholder-facing intranet site, including a repository of past research reports so external teams can access it
  • Identify any storage or equipment needs and take charge of purchasing necessary equipment and sundries

The Essentials

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills
  • Knowledge of the development process for video games is a plus
  • Research background is not required, but knowledge of it is a plus
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with setting up and troubleshooting hardware and software
  • Knowledge of database and/or inventory management software is a plus
  • Genuinely enjoy gaming in all forms
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required (e.g., business administration, operations/project management, or related field preferred).
  • Experience handling vendor relations and agreements
  • 3+ years of experience in a related operations role, ideally in user research

How We Get Things Done…

This last bit is probably the most important! Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done. You can find them at www.wbd.com/guiding-principles/ along with some insights from the team on what they mean and how they show up in their day to day. We hope they resonate with you and look forward to discussing them during your interview.
