Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor, Materials to join our team! Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, this position is responsible for the departmental processes within the assigned areas. This position is also responsible for productivity, quality, safety, job scheduling and day-to-day operations of the functions and personnel within the Stockroom, Material Sourcing/Handling/TATS, Shipping/Receiving and Purchasing.


This position may involve knowledge of confidential information. Such information will be handled with the utmost discretion.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the purchasing of material for new and existing product.
  • Maintains hazardous material inventory in HazMat storage (includes expired materials, DMR’s and hazardous waste) – transfer to HazMat after receiving and retrieve material for production department.
  • Materials Responsibilities
  • Responsible for proper transportation and staging of TATS material.
  • Inventory accuracy must be maintained over 98% for each SKU.
  • Responsible for maintaining accuracy of the TATS systems with regard to the in/out logs on TATS materials.
  • Assists other departments in training the users on inventory control steps and making production issues correctly.
  • Maintains accuracy of material in/out logs. Maintain in/out time logs on the freezer materials. Several tasks every day in moving material in and out of the freezers, based on lay-up dept. schedule. Boxes weigh up to 75 pounds.
  • Responsible for job scheduling and master production schedule.
  • Ensures a safe work environment and that all appropriate procedures are followed.


Supervisory Responsibilities


  • Maintains a high degree of cooperation with management and other employees.
  • Knowledgeable of all company policies and procedures and practices such.
  • Interviews and selects departmental personnel, along with the SCM Manager.
  • Counsel’s departmental employees regarding performance, productivity, and adherence to company policies and procedures in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Maintains highest standards of quality and quantity.
  • Trains and instructs employees on proper department procedures.
  • Supervises employees in assigned functional area in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations. Follows environmental compliance, safety regulations and OSHA guidelines. Receives annual training in hazardous waste compliance, regulatory information and any related state/federal regulation.
  • Establishes and understands schedules and priorities when making job assignments.
  • Assists in the training of new employees.

Qualifications


Education and Experience:


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills illustrated through experience
  • BS in Business or another related field preferred
  • Seven to ten years of related experience is required in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous supervisory and leadership experience preferred


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Positive customer service and ability to work with others in a team setting.
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean skills and knowledge preferred
  • Understanding of the inner workings of the company and can answer questions asked by internal and external customers.
  • Regularly works effectively, and relates well, with others including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside of the company. Exhibits a consistent professional manner in all situations. Meets the public well.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, write and prepare from standard to complicated written materials, reports, correspondence, etc.
  • Strong strategic thinking.
  • Very strong company computer system and PC skills – and have command of Microsoft software – Word and Excel, PowerPoint, project management software, and others as needed.
  • Ability to train employees and communicate instructions.
  • Ability to apply logic in problem solving for both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, employees, and the general public. Strong customer service skills.
