Job Description

The Superintendent works as part of an onsite team managing the field operations for residential remodels of military housing at Fort Meade. The Superintendent acts in a supervisory role overseeing the work of contractors, and vendors on project that are managed by Sevan Multi-Site Solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following statements.
  • Confirms and verifies permitting requirements related to the project.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with clients, potential clients, subcontractors and vendors to help develop new opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Along with the Sevan Project Manager, represents the company in project meetings.
  • Proactively communicates project related issues directly with Project Manager, Project Executive, or Operations Director.
  • Directly manages and monitors project work in the field.
  • Promote Sevan safety culture: maintain safe, clean, and organized work environment. Ensure Sevan’s safety requirements are met, encourage proactive safety practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately.
  • Prepares and provides daily and weekly status reports for projects utilizing Procore software.
  • Collaborates with Project Manager on change orders and incorporates work into project schedule.
  • Plan, organize and host weekly foremen meetings.
  • Travel required. May be required to be away from home for extended periods.
  • Supervises and is responsible for all on jobsite activities including safety, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Examines construction documentation including drawings, schedules, and scopes to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinates with local municipalities as required for any/all inspections.
  • Understands Critical Path Management (CPM) scheduling and has the ability to create and maintain a CPM schedule.
  • Complete quality inspections of trade partners and field personnel. Maintains and active deficiency report on open quality items.
  • Reviews bid results, specifications, test and progress reports, and other project information necessary to gain complete familiarity with the project.
  • Proactively identifies and solves or elevates project issues related to cost, schedule, safety, or qualify.
  • Ensure trade partner staffing levels are consistent to maintain project schedule.

Qualifications
  • State/local General Contractors license is preferred
  • Read, analyze, and interpret construction documents.
  • 4-year degree in an accredited construction related program or equivalent; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in “at risk” projects preferred.
  • Strong ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the project team including management, project management, clients, client’s organization, contractors, and vendors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Procore® project management software and MS Project scheduling software, MS Excel and Smartsheet
  • Demonstrated skills in on site construction management.
