Summer 2023 HR Internship (On-Site)

Do you have an interest in the Human Resources field and want to learn more about it? Are you looking to gain valuable business experience to help build your resume? We have the perfect internship opportunity for you!


The Massachusetts General Hospital Human Resources department invites applications for an intern seeking a 2023 Summer Internship for course credit to gain exposure to the daily operations of Human Resources.


This internship is an opportunity to learn practical on-the-job skills and receive training in many HR facets including retention, HR law, and compliance.


The Intern aids with a variety of Human Resources responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance at special events when applicable
  • Provides support to the HR Business Partners
  • Prepare Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents
  • Helps assist and direct incoming traffic within the HR Dept
  • Updates various databases, such as PeopleSoft and OnBase
  • Provides administrative support and assists with special projects as assigned

**Receiving course credit for the internship is required.


Qualifications - External

  • Currently in the third or fourth year of pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Healthcare, Psychology, Human Resources or related field
  • A desire to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Extremely detail oriented and self-motivated/flexible
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Prior administrative experience with proficiency in the MS Office Suite
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask

Requirements:

  • The internship position requires weekday availability of at least 12-16 hours per week, with flexible scheduling between the hours of 8:00AM-5PM.
  • Students must be currently enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program using the internship towards credits for that program.

**Receiving course credit for the internship is required.
