Job Description
Responsibilities


There are 4 open positions


The Student Success Coach at Johnson C. Smith University supports students in building skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to success, retention, persistence, and completion. In conjunction with Teacher Advisors, faculty advisors, mentors, administrators, and other campus personnel, the Student Success Coach guides students in academic and career planning and offers individual support to help meet their learning success needs. This position reports to the Director of the Center for Student Success and Academic Excellence.


Qualifications


A masters degree in counseling, education, psychology, or a closely related field is required. At least two years of experience in a higher education setting, such as advising, teaching, career services, financial aid, admissions, student success, counseling, or student affairs office is preferred. Experience working with post-secondary athletes or STEM students is a plus. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and customer service skills and willingness to work in a team-oriented environment. Familiarity with or willingness to learn Microsoft Office, Jenzabar and related Enterprise Resources Programs (ERPs) is required. The equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
