Job Description
  • Restorative and behavior support, when needed
  • Partner with students and families to learn their unique needs and connect them with BPS and community resources
  • Communicate parent and family needs to staff and teachers
  • Serve as liaison between community groups, parents, and school
  • Other duties as assigned by the principal APPLICATION DEADLINE: Until Filled
  • Coordinate in-building volunteers, provide orientation for volunteers
  • Ability to respond to needs of families
  • Advanced listening, communications and organization skills
  • Experience or degree in social work preferred
  • 5 years experience working with diverse populations preferred
  • BA Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Receive referrals and requests for resource information, provide student and parent support to obtain resources in the community
  • Provide parent support, gather information and coordinate transportation for homeless/highly mobile students
  • Welcome new families and help with registration, school tours, etc
  • Knowledge and experience working with diverse ethnic and socio-economic groups
  • Promote and facilitate parent involvement in various school programs and extracurricular activities
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate student council, student groups, friendship groups, buddy programs, etc.
  • Coordinate the development of 504 Plans
  • Strong relationship building skills
