Stu Lifeguard - Non-Osu

Lifeguards at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion and RPAC Recreation Natatorium are a select group of highly trained rescuers that supervise safety in and around the facility. This position provides the opportunity to develop life and professional skills such as time management, responsibility and attention to detail, adaptability and learning to work under pressure. Lifeguards have the opportunity to work with diverse groups and oversee activities from recreational swimming through national level competitive events.

• Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of, and comply with, the facility rules, policies and procedures, and consistently and appropriately enforce them
• Ensure facility cleanliness and security
• Conduct daily maintenance inspections of facility
• Consistently demonstrate positive, effective communication skills
• Consistently promote a positive, professional image at all times and provide consistent high quality customer service
• Responsible for the safety and rescue of all patrons in and around the pool at all times of operation
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance, including but not limited to: governmental and public relations, legal and regulatory compliance, and supervising the aquatics facility

Availability Requirements:

• Flexible schedule with the ability to work mornings, nights, weekends, special events, hard to fill times and holidays - we will work around university class schedules
• Must attend monthly in-service trainings, fitness swims and bi-weekly skill checks
• Work a minimum of 12 hours per week including mornings, nights, holidays and weekends
