Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) is seeking a Summer Lifeguard to support overnight summer camp, which runs from June 12th - August 16th (with July 2 - 4 off for the holiday.) This position is responsible for organizing and administering water activities during Girl Scout camps from June - mid-August. Your Day-to-Day Includes

• Perform daily set up, maintenance, and clean-up of waterfront as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Reports accidents to Camp Director promptly
• Provide games and activities during free swim
• Enforce safety measures at the waterfront
• Swim check campers on incoming camp days
• Conduct weekly evaluations
• Assist with special waterfront events if needed
• Supervise Unit Leader (“watchers”) staff while at the waterfront
• Facilitate boating instruction

The right candidate is an outgoing, goal-oriented team player who likes to work with children and who has the ability to act as a role model for campers. Additional experience required includes:

• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• Current lifeguard certification
• Be able to give and/or follow directions in an emergency
• Ability to attend pre-camp training in June
• Willing to work and live in a rustic camp setting
• Experience as a Girl Scout camper or youth leader desirable
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Ability to pass RIDEM Non-Surf test (Dates TBD by RIDEM)

Salary: $3,360 for the season
