SUMMARY

The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach is critical part of the LI Nets; Performance Team and form part of the wider Brooklyn Nets Performance Department. He/she/they shall be subject to the direction and supervision of the Long Island Nets’ General Manager or such other person(s) as may be designated by the Club with respect to the duties and responsibilities described and such additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. The Strength and Conditioning Coach shall perform all required duties and responsibilities in a manner satisfactory to the Long Island Nets’ General Manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION - WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Preparation of players for training and games with on-court warm ups at the coaches’ discretion.
  • Assist in the implementation of player nutrition strategies and hydration on game day.
  • Work across protocols for Return to Training, Return to Participation and Return to Performance.
  • Delivery of player recovery programs.
  • Assist in the implementation of a data driven and evidence based Sport Science / Strength and Conditioning program,
  • Development and implementation of extended injury prevention circuits to be utilized pre-training at the coaches’ discretion.
  • Logging of all relevant data on to the team’s online data management system.
  • Development and daily maintenance of the team gym.
  • Develop and review team protocols focused on travel and sleep strategies – including specific details on responsibilities for implementation.
  • Strength and conditioning session scheduling / periodization.
  • Keeping the gym stocked and all equipment updated.
  • Order, prepare and distribute information on travel and recovery strategies to players as required.
  • Assist in the implementation of the club’s supplementation program (in conjunction with the Sports Scientist) including ensuring all supplements are cleared for use in the NBA, ordering all supplements, ensuring they are delivered to players at the appropriate times and recording on the club database exactly what every player has taken.
  • Delivery of end stage rehabilitation programs as required under the guidance of the Director of Performance Rehabilitation.
  • Collecting and distributing information relating to player’s weight and body composition and ensuring this is stored on the club database.
  • Setting and evaluation of player’s individual physical K.P.I.’s.
  • Order, prepare and distribute players ‘Recovery bags’ as required.
  • Recording of all player’s strength and conditioning programs in the team’s database.
  • Assist with ordering all food, and ensuring it is delivered to players or the practice facility at the appropriate times.
  • Delivery of components of player’s individual injury prevention programs.
  • Development of all player’s physical strength and conditioning capabilities, through both team andindividual programs.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the training areas and equipment at facilities and when travelling.
  • Manage projects as assigned by the Long Island Nets’ General Manager.

SALARY RANGE

$80,000 - $95,000
