Job Description
PAYOUT FOR SUCCESSFUL PLACEMENT: $8,750.00 (Subject to Terms & Conditions)
Responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding supply needs, negotiating costing, and conducting cost savings initiatives. Drive sourcing transactions with the goal of maintaining uninterrupted material and product supply, achieving significant cost reductions, maintaining/improving product quality, and enhancing supplier service levels.
Have a strong understanding of the product requirements, identifying sources of supply with both domestic and international vendors, obtaining price quotations, and managing inventory. Sourcing from existing and new suppliers for new product introductions.
  • Deliver innovative solutions to deliver cost efficiencies to improve organizational value.
  • Lead annual supplier summit.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies.
  • Improve purchasing systems and process. Propose and implement approved changes to the purchasing systems that will improve vendor relationships and lower that cost of doing business.
  • Effectively communicate results of KPIs, root cause analysis and present necessary action plans to management.
  • Process dispositions on non-conforming material reports and execute returns to suppliers.
  • The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
  • Coordinating cross functionality within the organization to determine and manage inventory needs to meet sales and production projections.
  • Create a workplace culture that is consistent with our company’s core values.
  • Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
  • Partner with Marketing and Product Development teams to identify qualified sources of supply for new and existing products.
  • Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Manage day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that buyer achieves their personal performance goals.
  • Analyze supply chain flow, identifies bottlenecks, problem areas, and identify innovative solutions.
  • Continuous improvement of KPIs for Out of stocks and Inventory Turns.
  • Implement vendor management system, vendor scorecards, MBR’s/QBR’s (Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews) to drive continuous improvement of product KPIs.
  • Lead for Purchasing’s responsibilities related to the Company’s Annual Standard Cost Review and Update
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • 5+ years purchasing management experience.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • QAD Enterprise software experience a plus.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Domestic and overseas ordering.
  • APICS (CPIM or CPM) certification preferred.
