Store Manager

Overview:

The Store Manager is responsible for daily oversight of all store operations to include maintaining inventory, answering phones, assisting customers, cashing out customers, making recommendations, sales, managing personnel issues along with performing tire changes and other services as needed. This role is also responsible for overseeing alignment and front-end service work. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in passenger/light truck as well as commercial tires.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Valid Driver’s License required

Minimum Education:

• Graduate from college or technical school preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years in the tire or automotive industry required
• Minimum of 5 years of customer service experience preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of alignment experience preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of automotive management experience preferred

Required Skills:

• Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Computer skills: Basic computer skills; training will be provided as needed
• Basic mathematical skills
• Communication skills: Must be good at communicating with customers, employees and vendors in person, on the phone and via electronic tools such as e-mail and text messaging
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in writing, oral or diagram form

Physical Demands:

Exerts 50 to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands), and identifies and distinguishes colors. Occasionally climbs (ascends or descends ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like), balances. Occasionally stoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending at the waist, legs and spine), and kneels (bending the legs at knee to come to rest on knee or knees).

Essential Functions:

• Performs duties of tire technician when needed
• Manage the daily operations of the store, training, coaching of all employees
• Scheduling employees, completing time-clock reporting, and assigning work to ensure the store has appropriate coverage
• Dispatch and coordinate service for customers at customer facilities or for road service
• Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of all OTR, Earth Mover, and Commercial tire technicians
• Interact with customers, recommend products and scheduled service
• Process paperwork and utilize company computer systems to help maintain proper billing and inventory
• Manage the store schedule of all services
• Assists in selling goods and services to customers
