Statistician I

Med-Neurology - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (23003917)
Performs expert statistical analysis and summary reports on research data/sets using advanced techniques and analyzes data using statistical or mathematical software. Designs statistical tools and algorithms and utilizes descriptive and quantitative statistical techniques. Provides statistical support, creates analytic data files, advises on database design, and ensures compliance with University and federal regulations. Assists with crafting statistical portions of scientific manuscripts and grant proposals.
This role will focus on applying new statistical methods to clinical trials of medications for epilepsy. The ideal candidate will have a background and knowledge in statistics, coding in R, and wrangling data tables created in R/SAS, as well as an interest in the application of statistics to medicine. The work will focus on the development of peer-reviewed manuscripts, presentations, and grant applications based on the data that are analyzed. This employee will be involved both in the processing of the data and how the data are presented in these manuscripts, presentations, and grants. Data will be accessed both locally and through a remote secure environment that requires regulatory approval to access. All functions will be supervised by the Principal Investigator, who also is a statistician. *Position can be remote*
