Statistical Analyst Jobs

We are seeking a motivated Statistical Analyst with a strong background in statistics and programming to join our team. This is not a typical data scientist position; we are specifically looking for someone who has a passion for learning Bayesian statistics and the R programming language, and a good working knowledge of statistical models. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in statistical concepts and programming, and will be eager to apply this knowledge to provide insights and recommendations to drive data-informed decision making.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data, and generate actionable insights to drive business performance.
• Assist in the development and implementation of statistical models to solve business problems and provide recommendations based on the results.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines, including data cleaning, transformation, and validation.
• Communicate findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Quality control: Run checks on raw data to ensure the quality of technical survey implementation.
• Data handling: Manage datasets and prepare them for further analysis (data cleaning, restructuring and reweighting).
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Bayesian statistics, programming, and data analysis techniques, and apply them to the organization's projects and initiatives.
• Conduct statistical analysis on data sets using various statistical methods, with a focus on Bayesian statistics and R programming language.
• Provide support in the development and maintenance of databases, data analytics tools, and reporting systems.
• Assist in the development and validation of analytical models, including hypothesis testing, predictive modeling, and data visualization.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of statistical models, with a focus on Bayesian statistics, and a willingness to learn and apply this knowledge to real-world problems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Familiarity with data visualization techniques and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with data and derive insights from complex data sets.
• Strong programming skills, with a preference for willingness to learn and develop expertise in R programming language. Familiarity with Python or other statistical programming languages is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and algorithms is a plus.

Preferred Language/Software Experience:

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• R (Must-Have), Stan, Julia, Python, HTML, JavaScript
