Stationary Operating Engineer Jobs

Job Duties/Scope Of Work
Responsible for the critical control of utility equipment, building heating and ventilation systems, closed-loop cooling, vacuum pumps, compressors, DOP testing and air balance functions, the operation of boilers, and related auxiliary equipment, process water supply equipment, refrigeration, electrical generators and process air conditioning equipment.
Responsible for the Operations of Washington State Group A and Group B Public Water Systems in accordance with Washington State Administrative Code WAC 246-290 and WAC 246-291. Responsibilities include operation of Water Treatment Plants and distribution systems including performance of disinfections of water mains, tanks and monitoring of system performance to include sampling and analysis.
Responsible for the critical control of sanitary waste water collection, storage, pumping and treatment systems in accordance with Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 246-272A "Onsite Sewer Systems"; WAC 246-272B "Large On Site Sewage Systems; WAC 173-240; "Submission of Plans and Reports For Construction Of Wastewater Facilities".
Other Stationary Operating Engineer functions as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.

• Valid Driver's License.
• All Stationary Operating Engineers employed in the HMIS water systems group must obtain and maintain at least a Washington State Department of Health Water Treatment Plant Operator (WTPO) Level I Certification, a Water Distribution Manager Level 1, and a minimum of four (4) employees will be required to obtain a Washington State Department of Ecology Waste Water Group I Operator Certification. The examination must be taken at the first opportunity upon meeting criteria.
• This position may require working a rotating shift schedule (days or nights).

Desired Qualifications
- Washington State Department of Health WTPO-1/WDM-1 or greater Certificate of Competency; and/or Washington State Department of Ecology Waste Water Group 1 or greater Certificate of Competency is desired.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: $24.466 - $41.765
The pay rate range listed represents the full range of pay/hr that may be offered, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. A step rate increase will be implemented every six months (as applicable) until the top rate of the wage scale is reached.
