Job Description
Additional Position Details: FTE: 0.300000 | Flexible Workforce-On-Call | 1st Shift - Days | Friday and every other Saturday 11:00am-7:30pm


This position also pays extra shift differentials on top of the base hourly rate for swing, night, and weekend hours:


  • $1.27 extra for working weekend hours
  • $2.55 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
  • $1.44 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm


Position Summary


The Staffing Office Assistant ensures appropriate daily staffing needs are met for clinical staff in designated inpatient care units in accordance with departmental procedures and staffing guidelines by maintaining open communication with hospital units in order to quickly identify staffing needs and adjust schedules quickly and efficiently to provide adequate coverage.


Other responsibilities include making independent decisions when determining appropriate staffing assignments by taking into account various employee skills/competencies and the financial impact of those decisions; tracking and maintaining licensure/certification documents for clinical staff; accurately tracking employee attendance and documenting for leadership referral; and making electronic timecard adjustments to ensure the employee is paid correctly, and that hours are charged to the correct department cost center. This requires working knowledge and application of RN union contract and various HR policies including but not limited to; Attendance, ETO, and Leave of Absence.


Qualifications


Education


  • Associates Degree in related field, preferred
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position is required


Experience


  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite and scheduling systems highly desired
  • Minimum 3 years of customer service-related experience in a fast paced, demanding professional environment is required


Required Skills


  • Flexibility in arranging work schedule to meet demands of staffing office
  • Ability to solve complex problems with good prioritization and organization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, telephone skills which project a positive and professional image
  • Ability to quickly learn new software
