  • Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
  • Verifies accuracy of completed medication orders; reviews patient drug profiles; audits daily records of technicians.
  • Coordinates activities and personnel in the absence of a supervisor and oversees the work performed by technicians.
  • Receives, stores, and oversees the maintenance of pharmaceutical inventories and supplies.
  • May assist with the orientation of new associates and conduct in-service training relating to drug interaction, storage, and packaging.
  • May assist customers and long-term care staff; places orders for pharmaceutical products utilizing an automated pharmaceutical computer ordering system and insures for the accurate billing of medications; may credit patient accounts.
  • Assumes responsibility for own professional growth by participating in continuing education activities and/or professional organizations.
  • Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
  • Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System
  • Compounds prescribed drugs and other medicaments; fills, labels, records and dispenses prescriptions; provides drug information as needed.
  • Complies with all HIPAA policies specifically relating to patient confidentiality and release of information; maintains strict confidentiality on all client information; attends staff in-services and training.
  • Supervises the production of sterile and non-sterile products; performs quality control audits of repackaged products.
  • Screens and establishes priorities for incoming orders; verifies insurance coverage; consults with physicians regarding unclear orders.
